Each flashcard measures 24cm by 7cm, and is designed using the Sassoon Primary font.

The flashcards contain the main technical terms used in the Literacy Framework according to the year in which they first occur.

Each flashcard has an attractive, colourful border and has been designed to be highly visible from a distance.

Each year group's set of flashcards has a different border style/colour to help you to differentiate between them. In addition, the year group is printed at the foot of each sheet of flashcards.

It is good practice to display Literacy Technical Vocabulary in the classroom as children become aware of the words and their meaning in relation to the task that they are carrying out.

Tip: Change the words on display according to the strand being taught and refer to them throughout the unit. Encourage the children to refer to them also.

Tip: Laminate the flashcards to create durable sets.

Use of attractively-designed vocabulary during Literacy can increase motivation and raise attainment. Flashcards also make a positive contribution to classroom display.
